There are scattered on the trees throughout the park. The city has provided several picnic benches for the convenience of having a comfortable lunch in the shade of the palm trees. If you have a hammock with you this is your chance to tie it up to two palm trees for pictures and relaxation. We love to come to this park in the morning as the sun is rising, it is so beautiful! Kona-Hi.com has rated Honls Beach a 3 star rating for surfing and boogie boarding. The beach is exposed to high surf and can be dangerous for snorkeling and swimming. This a great spot for sunbathing and picnicking!
There is a small residential area just off the beach and it is wise to be respectful. There are not any lifeguards at this beach but you will see an officer wander through a couple of times a day looking for open containers.
